Cookie Policy

1. The short version
WWO uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage. Most are strictly necessary to run the site. One is optional, and we only set it if you allow it. We do not use analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal data.
We measure public pages with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies. It gives us aggregated figures such as pages viewed, referring sites, country and device type, plus counts of actions like running a free check. Signed-in areas are not measured, and a Global Privacy Control signal turns it off.

2. Strictly necessary
These are needed for the site to work or to keep settings you chose yourself. They are always on, because the law allows storage that is essential to a service you asked for without consent. You can still delete them in your browser, but signing in and saved preferences will stop working.

3. Optional (asked first)
We set these only after you choose “Accept all” or switch them on in Cookie settings. If you reject them, nothing optional is stored. A referral still counts if you sign up during the same visit, because the code travels in the page address rather than in a cookie.

4. Payments
When you check out, you are taken to Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe sets its own cookies on its own domain to process the payment and prevent fraud. They are covered by Stripe's cookie policy, not this one.
5. How we meet the rules where you live
- EU, EEA and UK (GDPR and ePrivacy rules): optional cookies are off until you opt in; “Reject non-essential” is as prominent as “Accept all”; you can choose by category; we keep a record of each choice (the choice, policy version, time, a random id and a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself) and ask again after 12 months or when this policy changes.
- United States (including California CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information or use cookies for targeted advertising. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of all optional cookies automatically.
- India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023): consent for optional cookies is asked for in plain language, given by a clear action, limited to the stated purpose, and can be withdrawn as easily as it was given.
- United Arab Emirates (Personal Data Protection Law): optional cookies rely on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time, and necessary ones are limited to running the service you asked for.
